Amber Heard in Elie Saab & Johnny Depp in pinstripes at TIFF: cool or dated?

Johnny Depp showed up to TIFF with Amber Heard for the premiere of her movie, The Danish Girl. We haven’t heard much about her performance. All the buzz is about Alicia Vikander and Eddie Redmayne, but that’s usually how it goes with Amber’s movies. She’s pretty and talks a tough game but doesn’t make an impact onscreen. It’s nice that Johnny showed up to support his lady when he’s also got all of his Black Mass promotion to do. Maybe they walked the carpet and split, but Amber probably wanted to watch her own movie.

Amber’s dress is Elie Saab, which is beautiful on her. I think she could have mixed up her hair and gone with an updo. Ever since she and Johnny officially hooked up, she’s been resisting the updos. Maybe because they’re so bohemian together, and so free. Remember when they got the munchies and raided bulk food bins with their bare hands? Those days are long gone, and I miss them. Johnny looks more dapper than usual in his pinstriped suit, which is probably not Dior Homme. Johnny has to wear Dior for his official appearances, but he can probably wear whatever he wants otherwise. Like, this suit looks more like Johnny’s own style than anything Dior would offer up, but I could be wrong.

Meanwhile, Page Six posted a mean weekend column about how Johnny’s lost his youthful looks. The article talks about Johnny’s awful teeth, which are fair game but might be remnants of his Jack Sparrow costume. Then they go further to talk about how he “will next appear in Black Mass” and “is evidently taking the Mass part of the title literally.” Page Six is usually not so aggressively snarky. So harsh.

Yet I do think Johnny is wearing lifts.
